LocalE Review + The Fashion Column Twins Giveaway!

"On October 3rd he asked me what day it was. 'It's October 3rd.'"
We're going to just consider it serendipitous that LocalE, The Fashion Column Twins, and I happened to plan a (pink) sweatshirt giveaway on Wednesday, October 3rd. What a perfect way to celebrate the magical year when the October 3rd Mean Girls holiday also falls on a Wednesday when everyone feels very compelled to wear pink! Lucky for me Emily and Elizabeth are anything but mean girls. I was so incredibly excited when they reached out to see if I'd be interested in collaborating on a giveaway (check out my latest Instagram post for entry details)! I remember when I first moved to Kansas City their gold sequin sweatshirt was a piece of KC swag I wanted more than anything. I'm so excited to now have it hanging in my closet!

Read on for giveaway details and make sure to enter the giveaway here on Instagram! Entries will be accepted through Sunday, October 7!

The Facial Bar Lash Lift + Tint Experience

A couple of weeks ago I had the chance to visit The Facial Bar for the first time! They were incredibly kind and invited me in to tour their space, learn more about their philosophy, and enjoy a complimentary lash lift + tint! Also, since visiting their Crossroads location The Facial Bar announced they'll be opening a second location in Olathe - huge congratulations to them!

The Facial Bar was established in 2015 as the first and only facial salon in Kansas City. Priding themselves on providing a variety of skin care options suitable for any budget, The Facial Bar's goal is to make skin care accessible so that everyone can have healthy, glowing skin! Their services include facials, peels, waxing, and (most recently) lash lifts + tints. All of the skincare services offered are 30 minutes and include steam, neck & shoulder massage, extractions, and ice globes to end the service. The aesthetic of the salon is light, airy, open, and clean. The chairs are arranged side-by-side in an open, casual environment to promote a laid-back, social feel.

Workspacery Content Planner Review

A new month means a new opportunity to get organized and thankfully we have Workspacery here to help! Introducing the Workspacery Content Planner! My dear friend, Jenna, is a an organization queen and the mastermind behind the Workspacery brand. Her new organization ideas and strategies never cease to amaze me and I was so tickled when she sent over the Workspacery Content Planner to try out! Read on for my full review and some lovely September calendar freebies from Workspacery to download at the end of this post!

It was crazy, we were packing the car to go to Florida and just before we got in the car to leave the mailman delivered a package and it was the planner! I wanted so badly to have the Content Planner for the road trip there and back and thought some pool-side planning would be very inspirational (which it was).

10,592 Days!

Well, I've officially been on this earth for 10,592 day which means it's celebration time! Tayanna (photographer behind Hey Tay & resident bestie) and I met up at Pink Antlers last night and had an incredibly fun impromptu photo shoot! Read on for more pics and my love letter to Pink Antlers!

Entering the last year of my 20s is a little scary, I'll be honest. I'm trying to not overthink it - it's just a number! And, truly, I'm so fortunate to be at an amazing point in my life - Corey and I have been married for 5 years, I've been at the same company for almost 5 years and have had amazing career opportunities, I have an amazing family and a group of furry kids who love us a lot, and I also have an incredibly cool car and closet. I need to practice gratitude much more earnestly.

I've seen so many bloggers with incredibly cute birthday photos so I just had to join in on the fun! Pink Antlers is a mom & daughters owned store at Park Place in Leawood, KS. They are absolutely one of my favorite shops in Kansas City and have products ranging from home decor to party supplies to children's toys to organizational goodies. When I go into Pink Antlers I always end up leaving with a new goody that I'm absolutely in love with!

Pink Antlers also offers workshops throughout the year! On September 18th Carly Rae Studio will be teaching Modern Floral Watercolors class and September 19th she'll be teaching Botanical Watercolors class! If you follow Pink Antlers on Instagram and/or subscribe to their emails you'll get regular updates on upcoming shop events!

OH! And, oh my goodness, Pink Antlers has a shop pup. Frankie is an Australian Shepard/Poodle mix and I'm completely in love with her. She is so chill and sweet but is absolutely down to snuggle if you are. Like, can we just clone her please because I want a Frankie in my furry squad!

Big thank you to Pink Antlers for letting us shoot and hang out with you last night! And HUGE shout out + thank you to Tayanna for always being down for random photoshoots. If you haven't checked out Tayanna's work you have to. She is immensely talented and does portrait, family, wedding, blog, and boudoir photography! Tay is always down for new ideas and I absolutely love her encouraging attitude and creative eye. I absolutely would not have started my blog without her love and encouragement!

Happy (almost) Labor Day weekend everyone! Thanks for hanging out and here's to another 348 months on this beautiful blue planet!

Betty Rae's River Market Preview Party!

Betty Rae's Ice Cream is making Delaware Street even sweeter starting August 29th with their new River Market location! Corey and I had the chance to check out the space during their preview party recently and it was absolutely delicious.

If you've ever driven by Betty Rae's Waldo location you have seen how popular this ice cream joint is - the line regularly goes out the door and into the parking lot! I'm lucky and am equidistant from both locations so delicious ice cream is always easy to access. Betty Rae's is known for their delicious (and slightly zany) ice cream flavors. Currently they're scooping:

Coco August Pop-Up This Saturday - 8/25!

Emily Bordner and I are popping-up at COCO Brookside this Saturday, August 25 from 1 - 3 pm for some jewelry-wearing, summer-to-fall-shopping fun! To prep, we pulled together some of our favorite COCO looks, called up the amazing Beth Grimm, and journeyed to Messenger Coffee Co. to shoot.

Oh, and Sam Smith (the Sam Smith) was at Messenger Coffee Co. while we were there. I didn't see him even once but I did see his mostly-finished breakfast plate. A true celebrity encounter!
